In 1891, a young physical education teacher in Massachusetts is looking for a way to entertain his students on a cold winter day. He decides to nail two peach baskets to either end of the gym. The students are divided into teams and attempt to toss a ball into the baskets... the game of basketball was born.
Today, the game of basketball has come a long way from those days of throwing balls into a peach basket. Likewise, Lifetime has come a long way from its humble beginnings of manufacturing basketball systems in the owner's garage - it is now the world's leading manufacturer of basketball equipment, producing a full range of portable & in-ground systems, along with backboard and rim combos, institutional systems and a host of accessories.
